Returning to the wonderful Allerthorpe Lakeland Park, based in East Yorkshire just 10 miles from the city of York, the Classic Olympic distance triathlon is now in its ninth year and still as popular as ever. Labelled as 220 Triathlon magazines fastest-standard distance triathlon courses last year, the course is perfect for people looking to achieve a great time at a fantastic location.

Whatever your ability or experience you can be assured of a very warm welcome as you arrive to complete this high-quality event, renowned for its friendly atmosphere and comradery.

This particular triathlon event comprises of a multi-lap 1,500 metre swim, single-lap 40km bike and flat 10km run. The Allerthorpe Classic Triathlon has proved its place in the triathlon calendar over its standing, attracting athletes of all ages and all abilities.

With record numbers taking part last year, plans for 2018 are set to make this welcoming Yorkshire triathlon better than ever.

We advise competitors to arrive a minimum of one hour before the start of their race to ensure they have plenty of time to rack their bikes before the first wave of competitors and also gives everyone time to find their way around the course and feel comfortable with the transition areas.

Final race information including competitor’s final start times will be emailed out to you approximately 10 days before the Allerthorpe Classic Triathlon and will also be listed on the website the week before the event on here so please make sure you check your time and allow plenty of time for travel to the venue. We will be in touch before this, keeping you up to date with any race information, training tips and ideas that might just help you achieve a PB!

There is parking available at the venue. There are also changing facilities, a great choice of food plus equipment stalls at the event (just in case you forget something!)


You will wear a timing chip throughout the event which will track your time throughout each discipline, at the end of the course you can view your time and get a print out from our machine. Final timings and photos will be uploaded to our website within 7 days of completion of the event. (Please bear with us on this as due to high numbers of competitors this can sometimes take several days to process!)
